THE WHITE TIGER: ARRIVING AT THE OTHER SIDE
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” –- Henry Miller
The Destination
Stepping Stones:
What is the purpose of Stepping Stones? They serve to avoid struggle, suffering and inconvenience. They make crossing difficult or dangerous terrain easier and safer. They keep feet and body out of slippery mud and marsh, preventing getting bogged down in a very unpleasant experience. They prevent unnecessary strain and work. They help to avoid sloughing through unseen and arduous terrain. They both bypass and mitigate potential risk and injury. Stepping Stones serve to speed the journey towards the destination smoothly, safely, and with the least amount of Efforting.
Stepping stones are placed by someone who has gone before. Someone who understands that in this place Stepping Stones are needed. Someone who has navigated the danger, and understands that there is a way for those who follow to avoid the suffering of it.
So it is with the Stepping Stones offered in the past four posts (Stepping Stones Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 & Part 4), which summarize the message of The White Tiger to date . If one chooses to accommodate, digest, integrate, ingest, grasp, assimilate into your very DNA, the learning and wisdom offered, you will, by application of this learning, arrive at The Other Side - The Destination…Psychological Freedom.
Psychological Freedom and the Question of “Healing”
So what is Psychological Freedom? The White Tiger talks about it over and over again. It is the mission of The White Tiger to offer to as many people, who are willing to listen, to hear, and to see, the pathway…the Stepping Stones…to this goal.
Psychological Freedom is the End of psychological Efforting. It is bypassing the game of Psychological Twister which we have been led to believe we must navigate successfully, in order to be balanced, whole, and a crippling word used over and over again in psychological practice - “healed.”
If you follow the Stepping Stones offered, if you assimilate, apply, practice the wisdom that has been offered, the “healing” will occur spontaneously, and while you are not looking.
Not terribly long ago, I cut my thumb, very deeply, on a piece of glass. The wound easily needed stitches. Instead, the edges of the skin were reapproximated, a pressure dressing was applied, and the entire thing covered in duct tape, and I went on about my life. When this bulky dressing was removed 4 days later - there was no evidence of the wound.
If you “go on about your life”/practicing and assimilating the wisdom of The Stepping Stones, you will arrive at The Other Side - Psychological Freedom. When you look back across to the far shore, you will realize that the “healing” occurred during the journey. It occurred when you were focused on reaching the next Stepping Stone. When you were looking ahead, forward, to The Other Side - to The Destination.
