Effortless Existence
Psychological Freedom is the “thing” that we are all in search of in this experience called life, whether we are at a point in our lives where we recognize that or not.
What is Psychological Freedom? It is Effortless Existence.
What is Effortless Existence? The complete, total, full, absolute comfort in one’s own skin - no inner conflict, no inner dialog, no inner turmoil, no inner distress.
It is an ease, a peace, in navigating life - unruffled, relaxed, unaffected.
It is living one hundred percent as your Authentic Self.
It may seem ideological, like wishful thinking…it isn’t.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
The top of Maslow’s pyramid is labeled Self Realization or Self Actualization.
Without the academic semantics, we can just call it Psychological Freedom.
Apart from the physical need of Food and Shelter, the other two fundamental needs of the Human Psyche are Safety and Security (both physical and psychological) and Love and Belonging. These are the things required for Survival.
It is not enough to have your physical needs met, that is only a percentage of the equation. If the psychological needs are not also met, the likelihood of Survival plummets.
Hardwired
Learning begins at birth and continues throughout the lifespan.
It is this early learning that forms our PERCEPTION of our SELF. That is to say, who we Believe that we are. NOT who we really are. Who we have been taught (LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE) that we are.
Our Perceived Self is shaped by our early relationship experiences, safe or not safe (insecure, tenuous, uncertain). We shape our SELF to respond in a way that will serve our Survival, whatever that means. What is created from these imperative learned responses becomes our PERCEPTION/BELIEF that this is WHO WE ARE - this is our SELF.
This templated PERCEPTION/BELIEF that this is now labeled, our SELF, is then carried through life.
This SELF that was formed, as an adaptive or maladaptive response to our early relationships in order to guarantee our Survival, is now firmly Hardwired. It exists as the 90 percent, our unconscious/subconscious mind.
It is the 90 percent that determines our daily experience of life - it is NOT our conscious cortically based thinking. If the 10 percent could outthink the 90 percent there would be no need for psychotherapeutic services.
Rewired
Psychological Freedom is only available when the 90 percent is Rewired.
It is the Rewiring that has the power to change our PERCEIVED/BELIEVED SELF into - our TRUE SELF - our AUTHENTIC SELF.
The process of becoming Rewired is not hard. It does not require Efforting.
It is just New Learning.
Barriers
There is so much rhetoric “out there” that creates barrier after barrier to the path of Psychological Freedom. All of these barriers are PERCEIVED, they are Constructs.
Rewiring your 90 percent, laying down new neural tracts, is utterly accessible. You do not have to play a game of Psychological Twister. You do not have to contort body, mind and spirit for this to happen. In fact, the more you struggle, the less likely you are to have success, as Psychological Struggle is the opposite of Psychological Freedom. Perpetuating the struggle only perpetuates the old learning of the 90 percent. It is a serious barrier to Psychological Freedom.
The Three Critical Keys (lessons)
Neutrality - the end of the conversation and belief of the made up idea/construct called Worth
Follow the Steps of Change (Rewiring the Motherboard) - everything…EVERY…THING is a decision - learn the process for making meaningful incremental change
The Authentic Self - living as you - standing in your own integrity - No Judgement of Self or Other - easily achievable in the absence of the Construct of Worth
The White Tiger has covered all three of these critical keys in depth and at length. They are contained herein awaiting your discovery and implementation.
Remember, Desire has never moved a grain of sand. If you Desire change, however do not follow the steps that lead to change, nothing will happen. You must move from Desire to Intention, and Intention to Implementation.
Psychological Freedom is LIVING as your AUTHENTIC SELF. A life lived as your Authentic Self is an easy life of Neutrality, without Judgement of Self or Other. It is an Effortless Existence.
